I think we are really fortunate in Singapore to have affordable, accessible and quality healthcare and unfortunately, it may not be the case in Nepal. In Project Aasha, we hope to bring in what we can from Singapore to those who need it most in Nepal, providing sustainable healthcare through both health screening and education. As an adventurous person, I look forward to exploring the different cultures and sights in Nepal! :)

If I’m not napping/sleeping, I sing (and karaoke), run or play games (like fris and badminton) with my fam and friends!

I joined Project Aasha because I was attracted to its sustainability in providing medical education and aid for the people of Nepal. I was also really keen in understanding how the people of Nepal cope with their healthcare needs and seek to use this opportunity to provide as much help as possible!

I enjoy playing sports, especially floorball, travelling and binge watching Brooklyn Nine-nine!

I joined Aasha as I strongly believe that the help provided to the local people in Nepal through the various surgical camps, health screenings and health education is extremely invaluable and meaningful.

In my free time, I enjoy playing a game of football or badminton with my friends, as well as engaging in other activities such as going for a long run or singing in a band!

I have an interest in community service since young, and I joined Project Aasha in hopes of contributing to the delivery of healthcare to less developed nations! This cause is especially close to my heart as it relates to a vital function of living – sight. I hope to learn more about the Nepalese culture during the trip, with this being my first trip to Nepal.

Outside of school, I enjoy baking and music! I also enjoy walking and hope that I can do so with a pet dog one day!

I’m really excited to step into the shoes of the Nepalese to have a taste of their lifestyle, to understand and improve the health and wellbeing of the Nepalese! It’s my wish to see them enjoying a more blissful life!

My hobbies are playing table tennis and listening to music. I love talking to people, drinking coffee and exploring the outside world :)

I was really keen on joining this project as I wanted to experience healthcare services back in the rural areas in Nepal and see how the locals there cope with the limited support. I also hope to learn something from the locals there and bring something intangible back to Singapore.

My hobbies are playing sports, especially basketball, having fun with friends and eating really nice food!

Project Aasha will be the 5th time I’ve been to Nepal! Having previously volunteered on medical missions to various parts of the nation, I seek to continue serving, and learning from doctors who have strived to improved the quality of healthcare in communities where help is most needed! I hope that one day, I will be able to serve on trips in the capacity of a full-fledged doctor!

I enjoy sports, playing the guitar, travelling and watching a good movie!

I joined Project Aasha because I was interested to understand better how healthcare is delivered in Nepal and hopefully through the course of the project make a slight difference in their lives. I also like how project Aasha is really unique in that it involves physiotherapy students from SIT which widens the impact we can achieve.

In my spare time, I enjoy eating, sleeping and rock climbing!

Project Aasha came as an opportunity to reach out to people in Nepal, it also serves as a stepping stone in my journey as a physio student. I hope that Project Aasha would be a good learning experience and set grounds for building friendships amongst individuals.

I chose physiotherapy as study and career choice because of the profession itself, I belief that it is a meaningful and fulfilling job.

I was drawn to this project’s unique environment, offering me an opportunity to better understand Nepal’s medical geography while helping the community with what I have been taught thus far. The contrast between the healthcare resources of Singapore & Nepal would help us better appreciate what we have.

Profession aside, I tend to enjoy natural landscapes and embark on adventures to gain new experiences and meet new people.

To be given an opportunity to contribute back to society by helping the villagers in Nepal, doing a meaningful deed, was one I could not turn down. The daily conditions over there in Nepal are already tough and so I hope through this project, I can pass on some knowledge to aid them in their daily living.

Physiotherapy is my passion as I’ve always wanted to get others back on their feet when they are down.
