Yu Xuan

LKC M1, Project Head 2021

I joined  Project Aasha wanting to learn what it means to contribute towards a more self-sufficient community! Over the course of this whole year, learning more about what pur mentors have done for the Nepalese villagers inspired me to do something for a less privileged community.

It is why even during COVID-19, I would want us to continue serving our beneficiaries from Singapore. Applying what we learn to our local community is also important so seeing our efforts go towards Aasha’s own local project warms the cockles of my heart.

When I am not cramming my ANKI cards for my studies, you can find me in the CSB cramming ANKI cards for my sign language and Malay :D

Joshua

LKC M1, Vice Project Head 2021

I joined project Aasha because I was drawn to the project’s vision of serving the Nepalese people in a sustainable but also impactful manner. I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone and to learn more about the healthcare systems in Nepal, a country that is geographically and culturally very different from Singapore. I believe that project Aasha will give me an opportunity to serve the Nepalese people with other healthcare professionals that share a similar heart for Nepal!

In my free time I enjoy playing the guitar and running/ exercising. I also enjoy watching movies and eating good food!

I wanted to join Project Aasha as I’ve always been interested in how the blind perceive the world around them. I hope that through engaging with them in fun activities, I’ll be better able to understand them and help them cope with daily life.

In my spare time, I enjoy painting, reading and playing with furry animals.

Fang Ying

LKC M1, Treasurer

I joined Project Aasha because I was intrigued by the fluidity of the project itself, in how every trip to Nepal has a different objective based on the changing needs of the Nepalese people. Furthermore, I felt that being able to learn from the healthcare infrastructure in an overseas country was a valuable opportunity that would be really enriching.

I enjoy outdoor activities, dancing, kayaking, and all kinds of adventures!
